At Gas Link Safety is our number one priority. All our gas cylinders are rigorously tested every 10 years by an approved UKAS accredited testing house. In addition to this all cylinders are checked for defects before every fill to ensure they reach the customer in A1 working condition.
Each cylinder will have the date the cylinder was tested stamped into the collar of cylinder and a plastic disc around the neck of the valve that denotes the expiry or retest date of that cylinder. Our filling team check that every cylinder is ‘in test’ at the time of filling.
In the unlikely event that you come across a cylinder that is not ‘in test’ DO NOT connect the cylinder. Call our office and a replacement cylinder will be arranged at the earliest possible opportunity.
It is a requirement of the HSE that all premises should secure their gas cylinders in an upright position or lie them down and chock them in a position where they are not an obstruction.
If you do not have chain brackets in your cellar please contact our office and we will, for a small charge, arrange for one of our technicians to fit new brackets. The alternative is to ask you brewer to fit brackets for you or you fit them yourself.
CO2 Detector Alarms
We recommend that every cellar is fitted with a CO2 alarm.
Co2 is an asphyxiant and, in large quantities or confined spaces, can be very dangerous. Exposure to large concentrates of Carbon Dioxide can in some circumstances lead to unconsciousness and even death.
An alarm will alert you to a leak before it gets too dangerous so that appropriate measure can be taken.
We are regional suppliers of Analox© Co2 Alarms. These can be purchased or rented on a monthly basis depending on your preference.
In the event of a gas leak in your cellar please call us immediately for advice.
